1.5.3.1.2.4A.4.2. Eugene Worsham is William Eugene Worsham b Apr 1867 of Bibb Co., GA. (13-1880) He m. Daisy L. Akin abt 1891 who was b Apr 1872 & d 6 Sep 1928 Bibb Co., GA. (Georgia Deaths, 1919-1998) The Barnesville Gazette, Barnesville, Ga., Thur, 29 May 1890: May They Be Happy - At the residence of Mr. J. M. Akin, yesterday at 2:30 p.m. Dr. Ed Worsham of Macon and Miss Daisy Akin, were united in marriage, Rev. W.S. Rogers officiating. A few relatives and intimate friends were present to witness the pleasant scene. The Gazette in behalf of the community, extends heartiest congratulations. The Daily Constitution Nov 22 1892, p 3: Dr. W. E. Worsham, son of the county physician and himself a praticing physician in Macon, became suddenly insane this afternoon and tried to kill his father. Dr. Worsham, Sr., lives in Vineville and his son has rooms at the same house. This afternoon, while his father was at the county hospital making his regular rounds, a messenger arrived with the startling intelligence that his son was unmanageable and threatened to kill any one who came near him. Dr. Worsham returned home at once and went to his son's room. As soon as the young man saw his father, he cursed him horribly, and finding he could do nothing the old man left. The son then turned on his mother and became so violent that her screams brought the father once more upon the scene. The sight of his father seemed to drive young Worsham into a paroxyam and seizing a razor from the bureau he made a rush, foaming at the mouth and screaming. With the presence of mind and decision, Dr. Worsham picked up a hammer that lay at hand and knocked the young man down. The blow inflicted a somewhat serious wound, but gave time to call in help. Dr. Worsham at once came to the city and swore out a writ of lunacy against his son. Sheriff Westcott and Deputy Herrington brought the young man in to jail and locked him up until the trial tomorrow. The Daily Constitution, Nov 23, 1892, p3 Macon, Ga: Nov 22- Dr. W. E. Worsham, son of the county physician an account of whose arrest as a maniac after he attempted to murder his father, appeared in The Constitution this morning, has been adjudged insane. The jury of lunacy was assembled at the jail this morning and the scene there enacted was a strange one. Young Worsham had recovered temporarily from his fit of madness and appeared to be equally as sane and calm while before the jury and afterwards as a member of the jury. The evidence of the witnesses was, however, very plain. It is evident, that the young man's brain has been gradually growing weaker for some months. He has been subject to fits of melancholy, followed generally by strange and unaccountable bursts of passion that seemed to be uncontrollable. The evidence given by the father and especially that part of it dealing with the attack made upon him by his son yesterday was tragic in the extreme and the old gentleman was visibly affected during his recital. He was loath, he said, to strike his son and at first feared that he had killed him with the hammer that he had used when defending himself against the madman's onslaught, but it was absolutely necessary to take violent measures in order to save his own life and possibly that of other members of the family. After a full hearing of the evidence the jury found young Worsham a fit subject for the lunatic asylum and he will be kept in jail until a vacancy can be found for him in Milledgeville."
